classical: YAWN

When it comes to classical music concerts,

most of us always think of it as something really boring and old and feels like listening to some lullaby...

but well, I am a musician, I play violin, and had music lessons in my childhood years...

despite my classical music background, I do listen to any genres of music,

from jazz to classical, from hard rock to twee pop, from electronics to super-weird techno, etc.

I must say my music selection should be categorized to eclectic with exceptions.

And for me, classical music is perhaps one of the greatest genres.

Compositions made by people who lived decades ago are somehow has more effort put into it

compared to songs in recent years...

Well, every one has their own taste and perspective toward music,

but you see, when you watch an orchestra, try listening to it with a different perspective,

the perspective from the musicians, the composer, and of course, the conductor..

Recently I watched An orchestra by Vladimir Ashkenazy and the sydney symphony musicians on tv.

They played compositions by the Oh-So-Awesome Mr. Rachmaninoff.
I was surfing through the tv channels, and somehow just stopped on the Australian Channel,

and watched this, at first the songs were just mediocre, nothing special, but as i kept on listening to it,

i shut my eyes, and tried to imagine as if i was there, sitting and playing with my instrument,

staring at the black little notes, and playing the music according to what the partiture says...

it's just amazing... hard to explain, but really. it's amazing, and some of of the parts that excited me so much

was when the trumpets, clarinet, flute were playing, i don't know how they do it, but it's just AMAZING!

to be able to control your breath and create perhaps one of the most beautiful sounds.... is just Stunning!

many people say violin is the hardest instrument to play, but i must say,

it is not, compared to those instruments that depend on your respiration system...

Well, I think, orchestra like these deserves more kudos than typical Rock concerts..
How they make the beautiful sounds is way different from bands nowadays..

no digital/electronic enhancement used, all is acoustic instruments,

perhaps only few microphones used so it could all be heard by the audience..

I love listening to it, the perfect pitch, perfect crescendos and decrescendos, the legatos etc etc.

Every single part of the composition is taken very seriously, from composing - until the playing...

oh such beauties...

WOW. yes. a big WOW for today's post.

I haven't been writing this blog for like ages!

tsk.tsk.tsk., looking at my last post it was on April!

well, now is october.. so, IT'S A SUPER LONG TIME!

I think it's because i've been living in twitterland, and yea kinda forgotten abt this blogspot..

even my tumblrland has been 'not taken care of' lately, tho i still go there daily,

but haven't really done any reblogs..

and SO!

I'll just do a quick sum up of what happened in the last 5-6 months..

what happened in between april and october. ha!

1. (oh yes, i love to make lists..)

So!

1. ........ err i got stuck now, i forgot what happened on april, may, june..

OH! i know, april ~ can't remember at all, nevermind then..

MAY: it's the month of Tiff's birthday! and yes she came home from the US,

and i kinda made her a tee with her name on it,

well i bought a blank black tee and sewd sequins, beads and ribbons on it...

i wish i took picture of it.. ahahaha the funny thing is that she kinda made me do it,

she wanted to have a 'handmade' gift.

alrighty...

move on to June. JUNE JUNE.. i totally forgot!!!

I could remember tho but then Im gonna have to open my old journals... i'm to lazy for that. :P

AH the month of JULY.

this one was one good month,

so the last week of July, I went to the city of Melbourne, Australia.

the main purpose of it was to accompany my younger bro, Joe to adapt there,

he's enrolling in a TAFE in Melbie.

and as you know Aussie has one of the weirdest seasons in the whole wide world,

so the month of July was WINTER,

whereas the other countries in other side of the planet are enjoying the lovely monts of SUMMER.

ha! and it was cold.

i never like winter to be honest. especially if you're on va-cay. err.

but o well, it was really fun, cuz that's the first time for me to visit aussie. hihihi...

and ohhhhh i got to meet ollfine and ducia in singapore on the transit day before flying to oz..

it was heaps of fun! AND ANOTHER THING of course, July was my iPhone month!!!

asked Tiff to buy it from ebay and took it in Sgp, oh good times.

and so yeah, im using an iPhone now, name is Poopie..

(don't ask! it wasnt my fault, tiff forced me.., gotta give credit for her for buying it lol!!)

oh yes the birthday month,

the month when the campus starts again.. oh semester 7. ahhhh.

19.aug.09 aha, I turned 21.

September. hm.

daily routines happened:

school - home - twittering - homeworks - sleepless - sleep - eat - mornings - church - design - jump around - laughed - etcetc - mum's birthday :D - ...

and now, the month of october... It's been awesome and tiring,

since I haven't had enough sleep. But it's great in every way.

There's no specific reasons why, but it's just great.

owl city that is. :D

and more new twinkling and magical songs coming every week...

I'm happy..

and oh! i bought a little A6 monologue sketch book and have been filling it up with

quotes (my own, lyrics, people's...).. yew!

and several weeks ago I sent out 7 pictures of architectural stuff to a photography competition,

*finger crossed* hopefully will win, hahaha. who knows...

oh today's my dad's birthday so,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAAAAADDDD!

i was pumped today for buying an ixus 870 yeh..

didnt think of an SLR at all, cuz thinking my parents wont let me, it's like expensive!

but then my bro came in and said WHY DONT YOU ASK HER (as in my mum) to buy the SLRRR.. kan perlu.. sumthing sumthing like that..

i was still hopeless and doing the 'big-eye-saying-yea-rite-if-she-want-to' to him.

but owell, still no hope.

went to sumber bahagia, my bro texted me once more..blah3x

entereing the sumber bahagia, i directly asked for the 870. but when starring at it,

i asked my mum. MAAAAAA SLRRRRRR, while reading the price list.. which is pretty expensive than last year's

and the battle continued (not that kind of bad battle between parents & child, but it was a polite one kok. no worries peeps.. and the battle definitly included my dad, i called him and merayu2 and then when he talked to mum. it was.

oh i was totally flying without wings on my head. AAAAHAHAHAHA

thats all. im happy. after all these years.. finally got one..

oh yah, the "one thing, which to be explained later"

pretty annoying but actually good.

so my design, together with couple of other's designs (filven, widya, levys, etc etc)

was chosen to be presented to the paragon peeps.

and (yeah it sounds awesome), but how awesome it is it still annoys me. WHY?:

1. i wont be having good night sleep like i've dreamt in my awaken hours during you all still asleep.

2. i just dont like interior

urrgghhh, and im supposed to be sketching my apartment lobby design now. THIS IS WAY ANNOYING.
okay i'll tell you why it's WAY ANNOYING:

FIRST: Im not liking interior anymore
SECOND: this whole java paragon is verryyyy blurry, none of the kid in my class understand perfectlyy..
THIRD: im having a flu, my nose can't stop sneezing, and pouring out the slime :P
FOURTH: i was supposed to b working in my bedroom! BUT! THERE'S A ROACCCCHHHHHHHHHH GOODNEEESSS! A BIG BLACK STUPID ANNOYING FLIPPIN LIVING COCKROACH IN MY ROOM! THAT'S SO RARE TO HAPPEN YA KNO! grr... ive sprayed almost half a Baygon everywhere, and it just hide somewhere. haiyaaa... so now im moving to my mum's room.
FIFTH: I can't find any flu medicine in the house.
SIXTH: even if i found one, i'd fell asleep and will be submitting empty papers tomorrow.
SEVEN: my concept is done (well, i dont know if its right already or not, what i get from my lecturer's explanation today was that: the application needs more improvement.., if im not mistaken. bleh
EIGHT: thank God for George Fenton's Planet Earth Soundtrack, so soothing wahahaha..
NINTH: im so gonna skip morning class tomorrow so i can have more goodnight sleep.
